For a 2023 free studio course, I created a documentary-style photo essay following Sierra Brooks, an All-American gymnast and one of Michigan’s most decorated athletes, over the course of 24 hours. The series captures both her daily routine—from training and recovery to quiet moments of preparation—and the intensity of her athletic achievements. Through black-and-white photography, I emphasized the duality of discipline and vulnerability in elite sports, highlighting not just her accomplishments in competition but the unseen dedication that makes them possible. This project strengthened my skills in visual storytelling, narrative sequencing, and immersive documentary photography.
