While taking a Typography class at the University of Michigan, I collaborated with Michigan Medicine’s Athletes Connected initiative to design a campaign addressing mental health in sports. The project combined bold typographic design with documentary-style sports photography, reframing the conversation around the pressures student-athletes face beyond performance. Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I paired black-and-white photography of women athletes with bold typographic treatments to challenge familiar sports slogans and highlight the unseen pressures athletes face. The project emphasized contrast, hierarchy, and storytelling to create visuals that are both impactful and socially relevant. The outcome was a campaign that not only met academic goals but also aligned with Michigan Medicine’s mission to support athlete wellness.
